RE: how to convert a 76 flat tappet cam to roller?
You convert the block, not the cam. Flat tappet cam goes with flat tappet lifters, roller cam goes with roller lifters. They sell retrofit kits, it's cam a lifter setups that are roller designed for non roller block. I've heard you can also do a bit of machining(drilling and tapping) and use a factory style roller setup, but I haven't done this so I'm not 100% sure if it would work on your block

you can do it on any flat tappet block. you need the cam lifter the dog bone that holds the lifters in place so they dont spin in their bores and then shorter push rods since the lifters are a lot taller

they sell retro fit cams and retro fit style lifters...however they can be quite expensive....If it were me I'd look for a early to mid 90's I believe 351 that came from the factory with a roller cam
