Default C4 or C6 Automatic on a Mustang

One of my buddy's has a C6 transmission for a 5.0 engine but i was wondering if it would fit on my 1994 mustangGTand throw the Aode away. My other choice is a C4 but i dont know which would be better. The C4 is a 4 speed tranmission and the C6 is a 5 speed. I want to be driveable but at the same time for racing.

C4 is a 3 speed auto
C6 is a bigger 3 speed auto
AODE is a 4 speed auto.

C4 is better for racing because it is lighter. But you will need a shift kit in it.

so your saying that the C4 would be better than the C6. Also with the C4 the gas mileage sucks.

why waste the time with a c6. the c6 is quickly becoming faised out even in the bbf world. the c4 is becoming the tranny of choice for fords. lighter can be made to handle tons of power, no need for the c6 especially on a small block

Look into a built AODE.
I wouldnt give up overdrive, especially if you plan on doing any highway driving.

No 5 Speed automatics that I know of will fit behind a 302. AODE is just as good as a C4 if it is built up correctly. With the advantage of the fourth gear for highway speeds.

PJB is right, i should just rebuild my Aode with and overhaul kit. How hard is it to rebuild it. Is it hard to take off the transmission. Does anybody know when i can see some pictures of doing a rubuild kit and taking down the tranny.
