I was told that the car will be ready for pick up tomorrow evening. I will not have any dyno numbers. It will all be before and afterseat of the pants.

Blow by Racing had an add in the October issue of 5.0 Mustang claiming these heads with Trick Flow Track heat intake and a custom grind cam put over 300 to the rear wheels... I don't have the cam yet so it will be less.

I have seen both in front of me. Both are good heads.

I like the AFR 165 idea, since they have recently upgraded to a more ls1 style (lightened/beefed) valvetrain.

The AFR head has roughly .2 less in average cross sectional area. But you do not need that extra bit for a 302/306.

I would go with the Canfield's, if I had a little more cubic inch over a standard 5.0L, or look into the 185/205 series from AFR.

greddy dont even consider the partiots.

if you have jay put together a head and cam package i see no reason you couldnt be around the 360+ range and i would be heavily leaning on the plus side

Go with Ed @ www.flowtechinduction.com

He will sell you the correct AFR's for your application, plus intake recommendations, along with a camshaft with your goals in mind, all for cheaper than CI.

Ed also sells everything else you need, MAF's, Throttle Body, Exhaust, pushrods, lifters, gaskets, etc, etc.

One stop Pro Shop.

However, CI is pretty darn good as well.

My suggestion is a AFR 185 on a stock block 347, or an AFR 205 on an aftermarket block. Mainly do in part to rpm requirements to make use of the head flow characteristics.

I guess we all got our opinions

I do not like how Jay is very rude to potential customers. I have seen it on several sites, carbedford, corral, hardcore, and downs other sites as well, that are not run by him: s b ftech...

http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,7....html#msg70153

Read his response, 3rd line, 3rd paragraph.

I have seen some guys like Mark O'Neal, Barry R, Ed, and some other full-time drag racers disagree with his methods and philisophy on how to build an engine.

But, they all can make us smile when we fire it up

I have hadno problems with Ed, his support, or products.

Why heck, he even sent me headgaskets one time, before I even sent him the money...[&:]
