Default AFR Heads

Hey all, what do you think of the AFR 165 Heads?
I have been trying to configure my engine and am looking at AFR heads, Edelbrock performer intake, 600 cfm carb, lifters and cam, and either tri Y headers, or hooker comp, not sure. and a shift kit for the C4.

Opinions/experience with AFR?
Thanks all

Probably good, but maybe overkill. Consider the whole package and match components. What are the flow numbers compared to your cam? etc.

well if you want great throttle responce, good low to mid-range hp and not too concern about higher end hp then the 165 is just the head for you used with a typoon daul plane intake and that 600 holley and a small cam you have a nice quick car that can idle in traffic and not heat up..in using the cam something around 480 lift would be about as far as I would go with making sure more lift is on the exhaust side and keeping your .050 duration in the 218-220 range.. and nice 2000 rpm stall would help get thing moving quicker as would a nice set of 3.55's and a big transmission cooler
