So i bought an 8.8 3.73 gear and 8.8 install kit(allbrand new, still in the box fromSummit)from this one guy for 100 bucks.. awesome deal. I have an 83 Mustang GT. Doin some research...... I have a 7.5 rear end!!!!!!!! So i was thinkin. should i keep the gear... and wait to get a 8.8 rear end, or sell the gear for more..... ohhhh btw. i saw the receipt, altogether it was 291 dollars...! Another thing.. my brother had a 88 Lincoln Mark 8, he hit a deer. It had the 5.0 mustang engine in it, does it have a 8.8 rear end that i can put on my mustang? Thanks

just take it back to summit and tell them you lost the receipt...

The Linc is the Link for your 8.8!! It will bolt right up to your mustang! I would keep the gears for when you get an 8.8

Sweet, it is the rear end outta a Lincoln.. so i'll ask if i can just rip that thing out.... I know some ppl that said they can install the gear for free on my car... now thati would have a rear end completely out of the car... it should be easier. Now all i gotta do is get that rear end right? then just use the stuff that bolts my 7.5 up to my car? or should i take the stuff from the lincoln and use that to bolt it up?

Bump...... my bro said i can take it off his hands, but he said it may not "bolt" right in because it had air bags, but it should be fine with the springs right?

either way it can be made to work. if you want, try and get the airbags mounted and working on the stang, wouldnt that be a great way to get your tires to hook? im not 100% its better than springs, but some1 will know.
