It's Alive!
Oh great. I took it down the road a little bit today and after getting it up to operating temp, I noticed a water leak. Looks to be coming from under the thermostat housing(hope so). I didn't take it apart when I took off the lower intake. I think the stat stuck once also. So now I'm pulling the thermo housing and changing the stat and gasket while looking to make sure no water was coming from the intake port(that would suck). Also I'm sure I need a new fan clutch because it wobbles while it spins. That can sure ruin the bearings in my water pump. Should I go back to stock or electric?
Well, from the engine stand to the car took me and a couple of friends about 2 1/2 hours. Bear in mind that this was my first engine install without professional help. I was under the car for alignment, a guy operating the cherry picker, and a guy spinning the back wheel so the tranny would slide in to the engine. This isn't a daily driver for me so I worked on it here and there. I'm proud of what I accomplished on my own though. I'm already planning another one and this engine isn't even broken in yet.
