Please offer any help!!!
I'm sure all the know it all/smart allecs are gonna take off and run with this one. But it is a seriuos question for a pretty seriuos problem I have.
The car is a 94 GT 5.0 with a stock T-5 tranny, with ported and polished gt40 aluminum heads, ported and polished cobra intake, 3:73 gears, 24lb injectors, 190lph fuel pump, k&n filter, underdrive pulleys a few other little mods.
My odometer or trip meter do not work and I would really like to get a pretty good idea at my gas mileage on the highway. I am driving from Jacksonville, FL to Baltimore, MD and I am on a very limited budget. It is a 750 mile trip and am concerned how much it will cost.
My plan to find out is to run my car until I run out of gas then have 2 1 gallon gas containers. After I run out of gas I will put 1 gallon in the tank and hit US1 at 70 mph until I run out then fill it up again, go back home get onto mapquest estamate the distanse traveled and theres my anwer. But I was seeing if anyone has any advise or would like to know the outcome of this little project.
Thanks A lot

why dont you just get a buddy to help that has a good odometer. fill up with gas, follow your friend for a while, fill up with gas again and use the mileage from his odometer and the amount of gas you used and do the math.
