OK, so the sn95 weighs a little more. The fox has 4 lugs. This is going to be a full out drag car, so the fox has 1 point with the weight, I will swap the rear axle, probably for shortned 9in, which I can get any combination of brakes and lug pattern. Not so concerned with sound, since it will not be my DD, I still have my 02 for that. All in all, its looking like a fox, thanks guys, anything else?
If your looking for making an all out drag car, find a notchback, they have a stiffer frame over the hatch and are the lightest of the fox body run
oh without a shadow of doubt, I think the notchs are the sexiest fox's, and thats what I am leaning towards beause I can pick one of those up cheaper than a sn95
i agree completely notches are freaking sexy and the lightest out the of the bunch. but good luck on finding a nice cheap. notches tend to go for more also
well cheaper than a sn95, not cheaper than most fox's.

I could just throw in some what 31 splines in and a nice locker with some 5 by 4.5 axles? For a full drag car, would yall do the c clip eliminators or what?

Also what year in the 87-93 range would ya'll look for? All have hydraulic rollers right? What changes in the years to decrease power? emissions equip or what?

'87-92 had forged internals, and they were rated for 225HP, dont rememeber the TQ
'93 had Hyperpeutic (sp) pistons, and they were rated at 210

Yep, 31 splines and 5x4.5 would be perfect. Absolutely do the c-clip eliminators.

Get and year 87-93. They all have the same power output, Ford just changed how they tested the output of the engines in 93. But still made the same power. 87 and 88 are Speed density, unless it's an 88 california car then it is MAF, so if you want MAF, look for 89+. 93 had a hyper pistons as opposed to Forged pistons, etc.

Sold my 04 Cobra, got rid of the payment, insurance, and bought a 90 fox body. Built a 306 with cam and KB on top. Spent less than I would for one year of Cobra payments.

They can handle about 300 rwhp or even more with heads, intake and cam. The problem is the tuning. 87-93 tuning flashers are expensive compared to the 400 sct flash I bought for the Cobra.Add 300 for the dyno tune. I can't find a tuner in so cal.

I got about 220-240 rwhp with cam, lower cobra, and .40 bore. Add the KB 2.1, I might have 280-330 rwhp but the issue is tune. My new block has therma something pistons. Only 89-91 V8s are forged

87-92 are Forged, and blocks begin to split around 450-500HP...

I heard something like that, the block starts to twist or something? Isnt there new main caps or something under the oil pan to strengthen that?

i wouldnt trust the main cap girdles to strenthen the block. if you wre building a higher rpm motor i might use it to help with main stability to help prevent main cap walk but thats it
