Which 5.0 to buy?

RE: Which 5.0 to buy?
Since this is going ot be an all out drag racer this is what I would suggest.
Foxbody Notchback 4 cylinder with crank windows
Gut everything since you don't want a street car
Throw a 351 with a nice H/C/I setup and a 150 shot
Beef up the rear end and go with a built automatic
there's more to it but you get the point.....
NOW.....
If you might do a strip/street setup I would get the 94-95
I had a foxbody and I couldn't get over the rattles and etc
I sacrificed a little weight for style and better handling

Fox notch with 5.0, descent body shape, throw a cheap ballsy cam in it for the time being, I REALLY REALLY love that sound. Buy a high perf block, build it for all out race, leave it sitting in the garage and throw parts at it when I can. I have a budget of only 500 bux a month at most, then when thats done, throw it on the car. This will be like a weekend warrior, so I wont have to worry bout the rattles

I heard something like that, the block starts to twist or something? Isnt there new main caps or something under the oil pan to strengthen that?

87-92 are Forged, and blocks begin to split around 450-500HP...

They can handle about 300 rwhp or even more with heads, intake and cam. The problem is the tuning. 87-93 tuning flashers are expensive compared to the 400 sct flash I bought for the Cobra.Add 300 for the dyno tune. I can't find a tuner in so cal.
I got about 220-240 rwhp with cam, lower cobra, and .40 bore. Add the KB 2.1, I might have 280-330 rwhp but the issue is tune. My new block has therma something pistons. Only 89-91 V8s are forged

if you wanna make a serious amount of power with long engine life, get a 4 bolt main... the 2 bolt stock blocks like to crack at the mains all the way up to the lifter valley...
