95 cobra dead cylinder?
I have a problem with my 95 cobra 5.0, the other night I was driving and it all of a sudden died. I tried statrting it and it would but it would immediatly die on me if i didnt give it gas, and when i did give it gas it misfires, it sounds like it has a very aggressive cam in it and vibrates the whole car. this indicates a dead cylinder. i replaced all the spark plugs the cap and rotor are brank new. Any suggestions?

RE: 95 cobra dead cylinder?
did you replace the wires trying to correct the problem?? or when you say the wires are new do you mean like you recently did them with in the past few weeks or months.....if you can keep the car running a quick backyard technique is to use a pair of insulated pliers or spark plug wire tongs and pull each wire one by one until you get to the one that doesn't drop or change the rpm when pulled...there you'll have your dead cylinder or cylinders depending on how many do that

best way to check for a dead cylinder is what mjr said. when you find it/them, run a compression check. should be about 100-120 in a good cylinder. i doubt its a dead hole though.

Do you have tube headers? One good way to find a non-firing cylinder is to get a spray bottle (with narrow stream) of water and spray each individual header tube at the head exit. Each should sizzle right off the bat. Non-firing ones won't sizzle.
If you suspect wires arcing or burnt you can run the engine in pitch black darkness and look for the arc location.
