all cars are different your car is also 10 years newer than mine tolerances are tighter than mine my car also has 186k on the clock but its a good idea to let it warm up for atleast a couple minutes. it only takes 5 minutes for my car to sit and get to operating temp

I let my car idle for like 30 seconds, and then drive it as though the drivetrain were made of glass until the oil is up to operating temp...not just the coolant...the oil. I live in SoCal, but I used to do the same in Philly. I've done this with every vehicle I've owned.Motors take too long to warm up just idling...like20 minutes before the oil is hot.

And the Mustang is not my only car. I also have a carbureted Dodge truck with over 500,000kms. It uses less than a Litre of oil in 7000kms. With no choke or warmed intake manifold. I start it up. Drive it easy until the engine is fully warmed up and lay the boots to it.
