what you guys have to remember is that the 5.0 style engine is 30-40 year old technology...

a 5.4l mod motor will make JUST as much power as an LS1 with the right cam.

GM went power crazy, while Ford focused on the style oriented, but not race ready consumer market

yea and dont forget about the much larger heads and compression they came with. GM did something right with the ls motor

The reason Ford hasn't been making power with the Modular is because they haven't set their mind to doing so. They simply make it, rather than making it good.

yes, im bumping an old thread, **** it, lol... i finally checked this one out

as far as i understand, the ls1 was a ford deisgn, sold to gm to be replaced by the 4.6 mod motors... do i think it was stupid? yes... but maybe fords on to something w. the dohc motors and such... beats me...
