302-351C Swap (pics)
Ive debated about this for months now about what to do with my LX and Ive decided to build a 351C. This could probably go in the 351 section but I would rather keep it here if I can. I just got the heads a few days ago and have only had time to start sandblasting on one of them. Once I get done, they will be sent to the machine shop, along with the block. Im hoping to have it done late summer/early fall.
The engine:
-1972 XY Std bore Cleveland block (high nickel)
-1972 4V closed chamber heads (2.19/1.60 valves)
-I have a Weiand tunnel ram that I used on my 68 but I doubt Ill use it for this...Im really trying to find a Holley Strip Dominator
-Jay Allen cam
-Foged pistons
-H beam rods
-Stock crank
-Stud mount RR
-ARP head/main studs
-1 7/8 full length headers (Ill have to fab up an X pipe but Im keeping the 3" dumps)
-Milodon Oil pan
-Small nitrous kit (maybe 100-125 shot)
-MSD ignition setup
Tranny:
-Im rebuilding a C-4
-Decent stall
-Shift kit
Other:
-While the engine is out Im going to paint the engine compartment
-Cowl hood if the carb wont clear
I think the car is a pretty good foundation:
-Lakewood 50/50s and 90/10s
-Lakewood "Traction Action" lift bars
-Rebuilt rear end with 4.10s
-Ford Racing upper control arms
-Eibach drag springs (with airbag)
-Battery relocated
-6pt rollcage
-Tubular Engine cradle
-Subframes
-MT ET Streets
I think it should be interesting...not too many Cleveland foxes running around...Ill take alot of pics and post them up here..Tell me what you guys think

Haha thanks 77, and actually midway thru sandblasting them the local performance shop called me and said that they have some aluminum heads and intakes for a Cleveland that they are trying to get rid of so Im gonna go check it out..no its a 2 bolt..Ive ran a 2 bolt in my 68 for years without any problems so Im a believer
Thanks matt, are you gonna run a carb setup or sre you sticking with EFI? Its hard to find much info on this swap...a 351W is def alot more popular but I know Clevelands better than anything else...and itll be something different...we'll see how it turns out..
