Nitrous or Vortech???
Ok, i found a guy on craigslist selling a NIB nos kit # 05115 (i think) for $450 with a purge kit. I'm thinking about buying it. However, I wanted a vortech sq trim also. I'm not going to kit both, so don't mention it. The vortech kit is about 6x more expensive, but i like the idea of constant power instead of having to refill bottles, but i don't like having to completely redo the fuel system. I want to find something that is easy to install and mess with, but won't stress my engine too much. I've heard stories of nitrous destroying engines, and s/c 's fraging the engine (happened to my buddy with his vortech).
can anyone give me any insight on which would be the best choice considering my mods???

I read that the nitrous system will bump the fuel pressure up automatically on spray. Also, apparently you don't need lets say 36lb injectors to run nitrous, and so then my 24lbs will work on n2o. I buddy also said with his s/c his gas mileage was terrible, but with nitrous you are running fine until you push a button. I'm slowly leaning towards nitrous, but i'm still not sure.
Yes, the kit will bump the fuel pressure, just like a FMU will on a SC kit. But speaking from personal experience they only work like bandaids for a more complex problem than just bumping pressure. Do it right once, get larger injectors, a larger pump and get it tuned.
As far as nitrous vs sc, I say sc, more expensive but you dont have to refill it once its on...
Also with EITHER your fuel consumption will go way up when you get on it. think about it your burning more fuel at WOT. But when your not smashing on it your MPG should actually go up with a SC. That is, if you can stay off the throttle for a whole tank of gas to check[&:]

I'd say go Vortech
