RE: Nitrous or Vortech???
The T-5 was designed to handle 300 lb/ft of torque. The stock rating of the 5.0. Either way you are going gain about the same amount of power. I ran a 100hp wet NOS kit for years with no problems. The tranny will last until you miss 2nd or 3rd while powershifting. Mine is still original @ 161K. And you will get more power from a turbo than you will from a supercharger at the same amount of boost.
You already have 24lb injectors, those should be ok, I would use at least a 155L in tank pump just to be safe. I used the stock one on mine with no problems.

I had a Vortech equipped '88 GT for a few years. Even the stock T-5 held up for a good while. You just have to not power shift and be mindful to take it easy when going into 3rd. If you are constantly ragging on any car, you'll break stuff.
Back when I built the '88, there were no model/engine specific KITS to install turbos. You pretty much had to assemble it yourself. So, most turbo cars were pretty screwed up. The Vortech kit was pricey but it was all there and a good amateur wrench could install it himself successfully.

Leaving the gas pedal on the floor, jabbing the clutch and yanking the shifter to the next gear. When you miss a gear with the motor up around 6000rpm, somethings gonna break when it pops back out of gear. The guy that I got my MAF from after he totaled his 89 LX had broken 6 T-5's while under warranty. Always missing 3rd gear. They finally told him when they installed the 6th one, that there was no more warranty on the transmission. Driver error!!!
I did alot of powershifting back in the day when I raced mine every week, but never missed a gear and after 161K, the syncro's are a bit worn, but it has never broke and has had the fluid changed to synthetic once. If it fell out tomorrow, I couldn't complain. But I probably would
He has an 87, that's why I said 300lb/ft. Just like your link says.
