ok so my freind is buying a 92 eclipse and according to the guy he is buying it from it has 300 hp. will i be able to take him? and if not what do i need besides nitrous or forced induction. my mods are in my sig. and i drive a 95 gt

if it really has 300 hp than no you wont. Without nitrous or forced induction than a H/C/I swap is pretty much you only option to beat it. Unless you stroke it or something.

not sure of the horespower, but a kid i know has a small turbo on his eclipse and nothing else and he ran a 14.9, but he is a complete idiot and drove through the waterbox and his 60ft time was like 2.6xx so i'm sure he prob could have ran a 14.6 prob at the fastest. I hope this somewhat helps

I'm wondering if the Eclipse really even has 300hp. Either way, do the h/c/i. You'll be glad about it whether or not your friend buys the Eclipse.

get tires, and then the h/c/i, along with suspension. It dont matter how much hp/trq yyou have, if it aint getting to the ground you arnt going to win (spinning the tires though cool[:'(]does not win races)

i have heard rumor that the v-6 eclipse's can out run the 5.0 stangs for an illegal street racer i know from around the way , but a 92 eclipse with 300 hp i would have to see it to beleive it seeing how you are talking about a 170hp car stock unless it is a turbo car but still i think those were like 225 hp . what is your buddy giving for the car , cause if has 300 hp it has had to have had some big money dropped into it . have you seen the car ? and are you saying that your 5.0 can't pull better than a 14 sec pass? i have rundown some eclipse's around here with no troble and i know they were turbo cars . plus does your buddy know how to drive a car that has a good deal of power ? ownig a car with 300 hp is one thing , knowing how to drive said car is another .
