I need to have my windshield replaced and I was just quoted at $220 for the "cheapest one". Is this a good deal or should I continue to shop around? I will not be replacing it until summer because it is in storage now, so I have plenty of time to shop.

 

I Payed 140 for a windsheild to be resealed in the stang. That was just for them to lift it out scrape all the crap that the previous owner put in there to try and stop it, They grinded the rust down and primed it

 

I work for Diamond Auto Glass, when we are real busy $200-$220 is the price, when slow $170-$190, where do you live? Also our company will meet or beat any price so if there is a Diamond in your area call them and say you were quated $190 from Safelite

 

yea i had a whole new windshield put in for like 160 by safelite in my 85 gt

 

220 is a little high. Don't get Safelight...there windshields are crap...go with PPG for a quality windshield.

the price will often reflect the quality of windshield you get!! you want cheap = most likely you won't get a windshield with the tinted portion that runs across the top that looks blue in color

 

I was quoted $100 for my 83. I don't know what brand or anything but my wife asked them when they did my 04 F150 and that was only for $100 too. That had the tint up top, never leaked, and looked great. I don't know the company that did it either but I am in central Texas.
