go to a parts house and get the battery checked for a dead cell. have them put a load on the battery and then check it. a battery with a dead or weak cell will seem to be ok when its being used often enough during the day ( alternator charging while running ) so it will still start the car, but die over night.

or they make cutoff switched that mount directly to the battery ... do you have an alarm ?

no i dont i think the original owner ripped it out i still have the holes for the led indicators

Oh, And if you do the battery cable unhook thing, do the neg. cable. It's much safer, especially if you accidently hit something with you wrench.
