fuel level gauge

Default fuel level gauge
My fuel gauge is messed up on my 88gt.It works when it wants to or stays passed full mark.When the tank gets low the light comes on and the gauge works right.Any suggestions? Maybe i should get a autometer gauge.Has anyone done that?How do you hook it up?Do I need to buy a different sender with it or will stock one work?

Don't get ahead of yourself by replacing the gauge. It could be a bad connection or a faulty sending unit.

most likely the sending unit. start with that.
