i dont know if i understand what you're doing....

can you illustrate it or maybe explain a little more in detail. i've already dealt once with the TFI going out and i dont want to do it again...its annoying[:@].

he cut the wires that plug into the TFI module, made them longer, then made extension that run from where the TFI module plugs into the disty

what about the metal plate mating surface? or does that only matter for the TFI module and having it mounted to a flat surface be enough to make it work?

mounting the module against the distributor makes the disty work like a heatsink

the problem with that is.. the distributor gets hot from engine temps, and negates any cooling effects the aluminum housing would have on the module.

the bottom line here is that it should not be done by the average person. the wires would have to be stripped, cleaned and soldered. Butt connectors will just not work here, I also think its a bad idea to simply "stick connectors into the distributor"

what do you suggest then? i'm actually really proficient at wiring(took a 2 years of electronics, one in highschool and another in college.) so i'm not your average joe for wiring, but if i do this i want to do it right. i hate it when that thing get heat soaked

use plenty of the white die electric grease that comes with a new module, you can purchase seperately at the dealership.

Adder, this was not my discovery. By the way, what do you use to polish your football helmet in your closet?
