As for your other question 5.0 is just cubic inches (US)converted into Liters (metric).302 cu in dispalcement = ~5.0 liters

Actually, I read that 302 is exactly 4.9 Liters, but ford slapped on the extra .1 liter because 5.0 "sounds better"

there are roughly 60 cubic inches per liter .....you do the math =300 = 5.0

the the added, or lost displacement of the head of the piston (dish or dome)
the volume of the cylinder head's combustion chamber
and the volume that the head gasket adds to the mix (thickness, diameter)
when they say its ported (the cylinder is wider in diameter) and polished (the cylinder head is rounded to increase the amount of space) thus the dish or dome. It helps with the flow between the valves.

61 buddy, thats why the 305 is the true 5 liter, and a 427 is a true 7 liter, not a 7.2 or something

but yeah, in all truth, its 4.95081 liters, so it rounds up and 5.0 sounds so much better
