What type and Size fuel line

What type and Size fuel line
I just installed the BBK rails and was thinking about running a -6AN (11/32ID or a tad bigger then 3/8ID rubber hose) line from the pump to the rails. Right now there hooked up stock with adapters,(i think stock is like the size of a bic Pen 5/16OD hard line) but i need to replace the line anyway before i go to the dyno, and was looking for some insight. Some say i need -10an or 1/2" which is what the fitting is on the BBK rails. I am not sure i can fit 1/2 braided or rubber hoseon the frame rails without a lot of work, Maybe hard line.
Hard Line or soft?
What size
Fuel system is BBK rails,255lph in tank pump and stock pickup system which then dumps into the T-rex. Then from T-rex it goes to the filter, from the filter it goes to the hard line on the frame rail, (basically stock system but the T-rex is between the fuel filter and the pump. Allnipples on t-rex and stock pickup are 3/8 OD.

RE: What type and Size fuel line
I am looking to upgrade the line from my rail to the pump, something was the limiting factor on the dyno, it would not make over 500rwhp and was going lean. Just wondering if 1/2" is needed or i can get away with 3/8" i know stock is only 5/16" hard line.

over 500rwhp you really need to upgrade your entire fuel system
tank
pump
lines
I would recommend -8 feed and -6 return with a Glenn's Performance Sleeper tank
with twin Walbro 255lph external inline fuel pumps.
Check out Aeroquips "socketless" fuel hose and fittings.

RE: What type and Size fuel line
Now you would go with -8an braided for rubber socketless hose, or would you go .5" hard line from the pumps to the tank? I already have twin 255pumps but i am unsure which is going to be easier to run, the hard line up to the engine, or the flexible. Hardline is DEF was cheaper and is aluminum with 3' of -10an feed to the rails.

Running the type of set-up you're running is going to give you problems at your power levels. IMO
Even if you upgrade the line from the extrernal pump to the rails, the line coming off the
factory in tank pump is still a 5/16 line, and that is still your main feed line and choke point
on the system. You have to have big proper line EVERYWHERE, not just after the T-rex pump.
The stock pick-up system is always going to choke out everything after it.
To do this right you really need a sumped tank with -10 feed port. To a high flow pump
and then -8 feed to the rails and -6 return.
above 425-450rwhp the entire fuel system needs to upgraded.
It is no problem installing -8 line along the subframe connectors.
Recommended set-up
Glenn's Performance Sleeper tank with -10 feed fitting
Aeromotive A1000 or twin Walbro 255 inline external pumps
Aeroquip socketless -8 feed to rails
Aeroquip socketless -6 return
Aeroquip Socketless hose is MUCH cheaper than braided stainless.
Holds fuel vapors better and is MUCH easier to assemble
This is what you REALLY need.

Above link will properly support 550-600rwhp on boosted engine.
