Default BBK intake manifold

I know you guys have been asked this before a few times but I couldn't find it in recent posts so I'll ask.

Anyone used this yet? It's the SSI series. I think the manifold looks really sweet and it (claims) 18-35hp. This true? I think this will be my first mod. I have an 92 Lx with pretty much stock everything but a BBK cold air. I'd like to know if this is worth the money. It's either this or Trickflow. I'm new to the 5.0 Mustangs but am learning some from reading here. Thanks

That was a pretty good write up but it wasn't a stock engine. So they are saying that it's not good for highly modified engines and it's more difficult to install. My car is stock anyhow.

mjr46, why is it crap? What did you go with and why? Im looking for best bang for buck obviously.

Cobra is better and cheaper, but Holley Systemax is good, the best thing about BBK is it comes with fuel rails so your not really losing

MM&FF did a independent test of 6-8 intakes can't remember what issue but it was with in the last year and the bbk ssi performed poorly and was next to last even the old gt-40 tubular did better if I remember right??...but the good ones were holley systemax, edelbrock rpm II, and a trick flow version

Umm.. Well that sucks cause I really liked the looks of the BBK lol. So I guess I'll have to check out Trickflow then. Thanks for your imput everyone.

Cobra would be a good idea too but the thing that bothers me about that is it's still a factory spec manifold. If it comes out as a factory spec I feel it doesn't perform asgood as others. just my .02
