egr delete?

RE: egr delete?
There is no advantage to an EGR delete. EGR is an emissions device, but it works by cooling the cylinder down. Cooler combustion creates less NOx.It does this by filling the cylinders with a significant amount of "wummel" (inert) exhaust gasses. This means that there is less oxygen and less fuel in the cylinder....(less working room = cooler temps) so yes when EGR is flowing your engine is producing less torque. However, the EGR only works when you are cruising or lightly accelerating - so you don't notice the power loss. Besides, the PCM is going to crank up spark advance when flowing EGR because of the reduced likelihood of detonation.... This gives you back some of the power lost due to the EGR and makes the whole process even less noticeable. Spend your money on more effective mods.

You can't just remove it without throwing a check engine light. Once you get the car tuned and it turned off then you can remove it. One advantage to getting rid of it is you're not running hot exhuast gas through your intake manifold, so that should run cooler. When the guy burned the chip for my car he turned it off.
What is the eBay link for that delete kit?

I suppose I can buy the less carbon coking theory.... Given you don't have misfires or another EEC issue causing the thing to run super rich.
Exhaust gas running through the intake isn't going to be a noticeable factor when it comes to air density. Besides, it ONLY flows when you're pussyfooting.
It will be the difference of several MPG at highway RPMs especially if you have gears.
Removing EGR isn't practical on a street car period
