+1 on power over body work. Here where I am from you better not judge a car by looks cause we have some sweet sleepers here. different color front clips and dings and scratches. Definetly tune that 5.0, you guys should have some vid footage for us to watch..

Doing the body in school might not be as cool as it sounds....being on a schedule and all. Plus you will have to find another car to drive as you are working on the one. Build it now, then paint it when you can do it "right", not just do it.

I made mine sorta fast, but decided to starighten the body out and to fix rust.....but I have plans and money being saved for some go F'n fast parts

But you have a F'n sweet car.. Ive seen your progress pics on project facelift.. Wish I had the know how to do that stuff. Im just a gear head.. Went to school to work on them and get the basics. I get to travel a state under me, (oklahoma) and pick up my new short block! Im pretty excited to hear the new sound my car is gonna make.

say you put in that nice new $500 hood (the same price as gears) and when your doing some engine work, it somhow gets smacked, or cracked..... or thouse rims, your in highschool, so somone sees your rims, and next thing you know your car is up on blocks.

making the car look great will pic up the girls and prob save money and gas in the long run (the more power you add, the more stuff you BREAK!)

but if you make your car look bad ***, pay alot of money for paint, then while your working on your car, doing heads or what not, you drop a wrench on the paint.....

you knw?

good luck bro

Im going go with power for a few reasons
1.you dont wana lose a bet
2.like 302army said you dont want to scratch a brand new paint job workin under the hood
3.if your doing the painting and work on your car in an autobody course. your most likely not gonna be that great of a painter so i say lean on something else and do the paint when you know what your doing or take it somewhere theres nothing worse then paying for a **** paint job, i know this from a previous car(if your a good painter or i missed something i appolgize in advance for that commant just what i made out of what you said)

however that being said if the cars in depending on the shape of the car i might do some body work kinda like 50:50. i would take the oppurtunity to get ri of any rust and put a little primer on it. slow's slow but rust spreads.

definatly tho stick around the forums theres some people here very educated on making 5.0's fast. good luck

I'd do a mix of both. Do a bit of work on the engine, and get gears. Then get it looking half decent. Most chicks wont care if its fast, its gotta look half decent. But I'd be worried about body work at school. Someone might mess with your car.

ok ur in highschool... so lets do this on a budget

gt40 heads
OTS cam(unless you can spring for a custom piece, which i would suggest)
gt40 intake
and a 150 shot

throw a real tire on it (aka fat DR or slick)27inch-28inch, and put some 4.10s in it.

4cyl springs front, 90/10s or strange struts front, no sway bar... ditch the rims for some used weld big and littles and maybe some rear lower control arms

hopefully its a 5 speed car

youll be looking at high/mid 11s if you can drive
