If there is one thing that ticks me off is having to do something twice.

Well the door lock actuators died on my car so i replaced them. great they worked for a month or two, then the driverside died. i replaced it and a few weeks later the driver one is 100% dead again and the passenger one crawls like a corolla. i replaced them with cheap replacements (motormite i think) so im sure thats the problem but i called for and they are $214 EACH! thats almost $500 to fix my door locks! does anyone have any better ideas? how did you fix urs if you ever did

 

bump because i KNOW some of you guys have had to replace these things, unless everyone is still running their original motors???

if so im gonna rip them out of a junkyard

 

Its common for these to go out. My passenger window has gotten stuck down 3 times. I usually slam the door and it goes up. Door lock actuators and window regulators are on my to do list. Have u checked out latemodelresto out? I think there cheaper on those parts. Knowing how much all that **** weighs, I would definately get a fox w/o pl/pw next time.

the driverside died once, replaced it with one from auto store and it died to and the passenger just died
the replacement ones look like toys, the originals were beefy, thats gotta be the issue. i just spoke with a local guy and he is ripping 2 off his car, gonna sell the pair for $40.

 

Your not looking at the right place. I paid $75 for both side OEM Ford actuaters from C.J ponys. I am pretty sure Brothers has them as well. It looks like only one but if you read carefully it says actuaters so call them and confirm

 

i did the best thing ever i took the door panel off and unhookd the electric motors lock rod from the lock now they are manual. the cars is small i just reach across and lock and unlock the doors best free mods yet

I wouldn't know what to do if mine stopped working! Id be standing outside in the cold pushing the button on m remote all confused Luckily fine havent died yet **fingers crossed**.

 

my dad came across a guy at the gas station, he was locked out of his car. the guy couldn't get in because his transmitter was dead. my dad looked at him holding it in his hand, then asked him whats wrong with the key[8D]

the bad part it was a mustang driver up near augusta ga, the guy never had the thought cross his mind that the key would unlock it also
