my 5.0 vs 2000 LS1 camaro

Mods are:
5.0- freshly rebuilt motors 2k miles ish, 5 speed, b 303 cam, ported typhoon intake, lightly massaged stock e-7's, full exhaust,CF DF clutch, 70mm tb & EGR, 73 C&L MAF, adj. FPR, sub frame connectors, mallory ignition coil, electric fan.

BTW we race this year i will also have 255/60/15 MT ET streets, UPR u/l control arms, and 3.73 gears w/ clutch pack rebuild, girdle, t-5 will be rebuilt as well


Mods:
2000 camaro LS1-
60k miles, auto tranny, Long tube headers, off road Y pipe and Borla Exhaust, LS6 intake, panhard bar, and Z rates street tires 315/35/17(i think)

i know i'll complete destroy him off the line but would i win in a quarter mile race??

 

I say he win sorry! those things are beast with the ls6 intakes and you only have e7 heads which is holding you back

I raced a 98-00 Z28 from the line. I held till I maxed 2nd gear out(Driver of camaro probally wans't racing at this point), then he punched it and pullled like3 cars in seconds. Your gonna need to swap outthe stock headsto beat a Camaro w/ 275-300 Hp.

 

sorry man, but unless he decides to race in reverse or not shift out of 1st gear, you dont have a shot..the ls1s are SICK engines..they just dont stop pulling

 

you don't stand a chance..you need a full h/c/i = better set up then what you have and all the bolt ons to hang with it

 

well I believe in your mustang! Give it hell! I bet if you run a shot of nitrous you will compete pretty well with him...

 

keep in mine hes running hard compound tires, think if i can get him to do a burnout(hes an idiot he doesnt know it would make them worse on a launch)

you think i would absolutely drestroy him off the line? i just want to make him look like an idiot mostly and beat him if possible. think with GT 40 heads i could take him??
