Default bbk shorty equal's vs stock ceramic coated headers

so im making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out witch mod's are naughty or nice.........

one of the things on my big 'ol list are bbk equal's with ceramic coating......... now im trying to decide if its REALLY worth the money to buy these headers, or should i just get my stock headers cleaned up if theres any debris in there (rounded up, matched, w/e you call it) and ceramic coated.

the car someday will be putting down good power, id like it in the 450hp range on spray........ SOME DAY, prob a good 2-4yrs from now.
thats why i think the bbk's arnt really worth it.

someone have any dyno's or anything to prove me wrong that aftermarket headers are worth it?

NEVERMIND

i unlazyed myself and went looking on google. headers gained 1.1hp... (car had stock cats, and flow back half)

im sure it would be more if i had heads....... so might as well wait till i get heads!

so now the question is, do you think taking the stock headers off, and getting them ceramic coated is worth it?

Personally, I wouldn't waste the time and money on stock headers

well with the dyno test only showing a 1.1hp gain i dont think imma play around with aftermarket ether untill i get way more mod's on this thing.

bolting on Ford Motorsport's GT-40 aluminum heads, only gained 23.6 hp and 17ft lbs of trq........

i thought that was very interesting!

i wouldnt mess with the stocker headers either, if you look at them and then at aftermarket you can see how crimped and bent the stockers are where as the aftermarket have smooth corners and such. if your wanting that much hp you should look into long tubes.

long tubes would be nice, but at the moment i have a AOD, so its not happening.

ill just keep my stock headers untill power starts to get more serious, 300-350 range.......

i was under the impression stock headers flowed look pewp. I would replace them, I got summit cermics cheap and they still look NIB. I felt a improvement when i got them installed but it was more of a smoother take off from a stop, not really an increase under WOP. plus they look cooler.

yea from the dyno i saw, it was a increse in 1.1hp....... whitch isent really worth the cost.

looks is defently the main reason for it, who wants old rusted, kinked headers on a blinged out engine bay line mine?
