Default cannister purge

I own a 90 lx 50, and there is the black box hanging in the engine bay under the air cleaner that has vacuum lines running to it. WTF is it???? I think its the purge valve thingie....

Do I need it. I live in Florida without the emissions rules....

Also, I have A/C, and a AT. What exactly do I need for vacuum lines. No smog, no heater, no cats. Im tired of getting freekin vacuum leaks....

thanks

tom

Default RE: cannister purge

it is the purge canister where fuel vapors are stored until the purge valve vents it through the line and all vapors to be burned in the intake... remove it and let line vent if you desire to atmosphere or plug line and buy a vented gas cap
