Default RE: piston to valve clearance

Peak lift has nothing to do with piston to valve clearance problems. The piston is well down the bore (over 2 inches) when your F-cam reaches peak lift.

Piston to valve clearance problems occur during overlap. This is the period when the exhaust valve is closing and the intake valve is opening, while the piston is at TDC (Top Dead Center).

You likely will be okay, but always check. You can set-up the valvetrain on one cylinder after you put clay on the pistons. Turn the engine over manually, and see where you stand.

Good Luck!
