well i spent 500 on the motor[&:] the only local one left, except one that was 350 that had a battery explosion/fire that melted the heads and intake....

So i should be looking at around 700-800 to play with...

chill dude i was just taking you back to what i was saying.

since your on a budget nothing really better than the gt40's and a trickflow cam is better than a e cam

well I assume your staying carbed which I'd reccommend with your budget...but 800 won't get you much...300 for a cam , 300-500 for gt-40 heads and 175 for a good dual plane intake, plus all gaskets and fluids will put build at 1000.00 and if it were me I'd strip the bone yard motor apart and put bearings and lightly hone it and new rings in and paint it blue call it new deal...that way you'd know the integrity of the motor going in ......with such a build above as long as you got gears and exhaust you should be able to run 13's, oh you'll also need to buy the proper valetrain components with cam upgrade

alright, well i have the cam and intake picked out...

I want a set of gt-40 heads and want to get them ported... about how much would that cost... along with getting new rings and other things?

EDIT- all the explorer motors i found were missing heads and were just a block, and the guys wanted like 200 for just that.. so ill just try to find some gt-40 heads.

and i decided to get a trickflow cam, and the rpm air gap intake from edelbrock.
