sweet bro! glad to see your finally doing something other then cosmetic!

do her right, take it appart, clean it up, and paint it.

gt40's and a cam would do wonders!
porting the gt40's could get expensive for your budget.

good luck!

Well i can get more money if i need it... my starter is sh*t on my motor right now, so i have to push start it everywhere i go (by myself... i weigh 140 lbs... its tough) sooo yeah.... if i need more i can get more towards the build, rather than having to bust my a$$ to change the starter for a motor i don't plan on using

I guess it all depends on how much extra he can spring for like a new hood for clearance , headers and the few misc things

LOL ok ok....351 is my DREAM, but i A can't afford a one OR the gas prices[:@]

I drive like 30 miles in town to get to work [&:] with gas almost $4 a gallon (locally) i can't afford it.

So i'm just doing a mild 302 build for now, till i can afford something else thats nice...

Oh and i make sh*t for money cause im only 17, and work basically minimum wage... ANYWHO!

I'm getting a trickflow cam, edelbrock rpm air gap intake. And i'm shopping around for gt-40 heads (IF ANYBODY HAS ANY FOR CHEAP LET ME KNOW PLEASE!)

This will be my first engine rebuild, and as you can tell im really nervous about messing it up, and i want to get the most power for my money....

Does this sound like a decent set up? or what else should i be looking for?

Oh, another question, what carburater should i run with this setup... the one i have on my current engine blows dick. so i need to find something that will be sufficent for the build, but nothing to serious.

Thanks for all the help and ideas guys. i really appreciate it.

I have an edelbrock 1405/600cfm on my 92 with an f-cam , ported e7's and performer 289 intake and it runs well...a 600 should be all you need on that build....just tune it right and you'll be fine

One of the most common mistakes people make is too much carb. 600 will do it.
