Does an engine miss sound like an exhaust leak? I cant tell if I have a slight miss or an exhaust leak. I have already tightened the header bolts and only one was loose and it didn't fix the problem. I'm checking the header flange/ exhaust conection in the morning, so question is...Could it need new timing?

 

If it sounds like, "tat,tat,tat,tat" it's an exhaust leak. Did youinstall new header lately?
I found exhaust leak on mine after mac header installation, it was a bad copper gasket.
I know it may sound stupid but get yourself3/8 inch flexible hose, put one end up to your ear and check all your header bolts and around gasket area you may be able to pinpoint exhaust leak.
