Default Rear Diff question

Alright so I am pretty sure that I finally smoked the clutches in my trac-loc and ready to go bananas on the rear end of this thing. My question is I am thinking of going up to 410s since I dont do alot of highway driving with the car. Is this worth it with the 5 speed for now or should I stick to 373s? Im sure later down the road it is going to be a windsor/auto setup but I want to do the rear right the first time and get it over with.

Also what center section should I look at? Auburn gear has a nice setup but that is just looking at jegs while on the crapper this morning.

Should I bump up to 31 splines as well while im going up? it seems hard to find a 4 lug 31 spline axle for my beast since I want to keep my fresh wheels haha.

Another note on the axles, I have turbocoupe rear brakes as well as axle housing so will I need a different length axle to compensate for the disc setup?

As always thanks in advance guys!!

I'd do a 31 spline ford racing set up cause they are cheap to rebuild and parts are readily availible where as you auburns aren't as readily rebuildible or cost effective to do such

how aboot eatons traction action diff? Any news on that one or info? I have a person to set it all up but he goes if you build it right the first time, it will be your last time so build for big power if you are planning for it.

I'm currently running a(31 spline)ford trac loc with carbon fiber clutches with a thicker shim on each side..Hold up pretty well and was cheap enough...Buddy runs low 10's and his is still doin fine....Tru trac...the strongest...and more costly...diff 31 spline stuff with some aftermarket axles...and if your drag racing it with slicks a rear end girdle helps prolong the gear life...So..I'm with Mj46.....4.10's>3.73s? depends on the setup but I like the 4.10's myself and 4.30's even better......

True trac are tough!1 I have a friend with one but if you know how to rebuild the trac loc 8.8 it's the most cost effective way IMO...takes 1 hr max to do it and your up and rolling again... as for building it right the first time to never do it again??? hmmmm in the world of racing there are no gaurantees
