AC doesnt work, relay?

AC doesnt work, relay?
My ac was working, and then all the sudden it stopped after sitting for a few weeks. The compressor isnt seized, and there are no leaks, in fact the pressure in the system was at 120psi! yikes! I drained and refilled it with 134 but the compressor refuses to engauge. I was thinking its a relay or fuze of some sort. Anyone else have this issue?

RE: AC doesnt work, relay?
Sounds like a high pressure switch. I had the same thing happen on my 94. On my car it is close to the pass. firewall. Once you have located it pull the plug off of it and use a jumper wire to go from one side of the plug to the other. Check to see if your compressor is engaged and if it is your High Press. Switch is bad. A new one for my car was only $15. There is also a fuse but you'd have to check your manual.

To the o/p, was the car already converted for 134a or did you do that?

That would be the low pressure switch and on the foxbody it's located on the accumulator.

RE: AC doesnt work, relay?
when the pressures equalize like at rest= a/c compressor not on120 is not bad ...temperature outside affects the relative pressure in an a/c system...and your car is equipped with an a/c cycling clutch switch...it could be the prob also

it's the one on top of the accumulator they are talking about = low pressure switch..jump two wire together and see if clutch engauges..if it does = bad switch if not ..it may have a bad WOT relay
