*UPDATE**maybe the third time will be the charm.
i honestly don't know why it went. it wasn't overrevd that i did anyways, and it while the engine was at 2400rpm's it had 32lbs of oil pressure, and oil level was fine.
i'm prolly going to get flamed for this and i'm sure i'll get talked out of it but i'm toying with fixing the car then selling it and buying an ls1. i can make the same power with a catback with one of those

yup... better get in touch with Jim.
and like I said... you might as well just send him everything you have... let him assemble EVERYTHING, and break it in on the dyno

send it back....[&:]
send it back....[&:]
1. original Longblock sent, no issues whatsoever till customer burned 4 pistons due to no tune
2. I sent a replacement shortblock to customer in 1 day without even knowing why the original engine was broke, assuming it was an error on my side because that's how I do things. Turns out, not my fault whatsoever.
3. Replacement short block gets returned rusted severely, I eat the cost to repair and remachine said shortblock, no problem
4. I receive customers blown up original shortblock, block is junk. I provide new pistons, rings, rod and main bearings, remachine new roller block, assemble shortblock, customer is just charged for parts ONLY. I lost money on that deal easily with all the machine work involved, no big deal, win some, lose some I guess.
5. New shortblock received exact same crank and rods as original longblock, clearances of .002-.0025 on mains and rods. I did not assemble it to a complete a longblock like the original engine which lasted just fine until said piston meltdown.
With bearing clearances of .002+ there is no way your spinning a bearing, in theory. But there is a host of small issues that may arise and cause you to spin a bearing. I have countless emails from customer not being able to adjust valves the first time around, this always throws a red flag to me, seeing as how he built the rest of the engine as he was only sent a shortblock back. Is it a thrust bearing issue with the trans? Is it a oil pump pick to pan clearance issue? I don't know as I am not there but I do know this is a basket case out of the 98 engines shipped thus far this year and the ONLY one with any issues that I am aware of of this magnatude. If blame needs to be placed on me for wrongdoing on my end, as shown before I will always handle it accordingly and bare the brunt of the issue, but there is alot more to this story than meets the eye, especially from what I have seen and all the trouble the customer is having.
What more do you people want me to do? Please tell me, because the first time he burned up the engine on his own 99% of shops would have stuck it to his a s s in 30 seconds flat. Im all ears.
just a hunch, but im gonna have to say that i think it wasnt Woodsys fault. i dunno, but im more inclined to think that the guy whos been building engines for (insert number of years year) years knows what he was/is doing
although stranger occurrences have happened, you guys should stop saying to send it back to him, as its highly likely not his fault
