yeah, whats the deal with the mustang dyno? An engine that a friend did made like 575 hp on the engine dyno, but had rwhp #'s of like 320 on the mustang dyno, thats more than 18% drivetrain loss that would be almost 50%! WHy are the numbers like that?

the mustang dyno compensates for alot of variables in the drivetrain and road and resistance and friction and in the end = low dyno numbers but a representation of what may actually reach the pavement as far as hp in real life situations, but all that matters is et anyway

The dyno could have been wrong, or maybe it was right. In the end what really matters is how it performs. Numbers are just that, numbers. Numbers don't go down the track, the car does. Go run it and see what it does before you get too worked up over the dyno session.

I am a dyno tuner and operator from North Carolina.

Just wondering where you are located..

Anyway, what kind of tuner are you using?

and, it's not unusual for a mustang dyno to give a lower number then a dynojet because the numbers are real, most numbers people flaunt on here are from a dynojet (non eddy brake dyno)

Default also...

Double check with your home dyno to see if the operator set up all the variables right to get the right numbers. One wrong variable will ruin your dyno pull.
