Question What Tires

I am doing my research on tires and was curious what tires are you guys running on the street and the track? What do you guys think about them,sizes, pros and cons. Everything you can say about your tires.

Well, what kind of mods do you have? If you're pumping huge numbers then you'd need a huge tire whereas if you're close to stock there's no need to get the biggest tire in the world.

I run 275-50-15 mickey thompson et radials at the track, and 275-40-17 BFG G-force sports on the street

I'm have whats in my sig plus gt40 heads but when I get back I am doing some suspension work too. I'm not looking for anything huge but I want something that will keep traction. I'm probably gonna get one of the wheel/tire kits from latemodel. They come with 255's but I have been thinking about getting just the wheels and get a set of 275's out back instead. So out may come the nitto drag radials or a set of falkens.

Prime, how is the wet traction with the bfg's?

dont forget that taller tires will change you gar vratio as well. so dont go too big

eh its okay, no tire is going to hook well in the rain

I run 245-45-17 Nexen N3000 on the street and i like em. They have great tread wear.

I run 245 50?? r16s on pony rims... I only have 66 dollar a piece Kuhmo ASTs... they arent too bad of a tire, but I dont flog on my car.... at the track they would prolly be terrible... but I need all season tires...

I personally hate my nittos for the track....they don't compare to the MT's at all. Next year I am getting some MT's to replace my nittos. I will be getting some 275/40/17 or maybe even a 27" tire to go with a possible 4:10 gear swap...I kinda like the taller rear tire look.

Well anything is better than the old 195/70/14s that I have now. the bald 215 that was on my right side hooked alot better than this pizza of a tire. I can't give hardly any gas from a light before I spin so no fast take offs from a light for me.
This is the wheel/tire combo I will probably be getting when I get back.

Pony R's with Sumitomo HTRZIII 255/40/17's I havn't heard anything about this tire but I'm sure it is a decent tire.
