93 lx hatch story/dilemma
Got rid of the 1996 non-pi modular....yuck....bad thing is....I got rid of it right after I bought the PI heads and intake for it and brand new gasket kit....oh well
Now I'm into a 93 LX hatch I bought....was very clean, not perfect...but bone stock except for rear gears (not sure of ratio) prolly 3.73s or 4.10s and flowmasters and k&n filter
Heres the dilemma.....this car now needs a rear main seal.....probably would going to freshen it up while its out. But I have a old beater car a 1969 Ford Fairlane with a 302 in it. This car runs top notch, now it's very slow considering its all stock with a 2bl intake blah blah but when we tore it down it was clean, verfiying the story the seller gave me about his mom (an older lady) driving it hardly over 55 mph
I've had the crazy idea of swapping in that block with some gt40p heads I found for $200 bucks and a better aftermarket (possibly victor jr) 4bl intake, healthy cam and call it a day
or I could freshen my current motor up, put the rear main seal in, some gt40p heads, cobra intake and possibly an e-cam
I am on a budget, and this is going to be a driver, not a track queen 350rwhp is my goal.
Basically just looking for ideas, and your experiences with builds...this forum is definetly helpful, just looking for some input based on my current situation
Oh and found a 351w was in a 70s station wagon, close by as well that is claimed to be running when pulled, havent seen it in person yet, but it's $150 bucks I know there is alot more to a 351w swap than just the motor, plus I would wanna throw some better flowing h/i and a nice cam to it too
Also need headers as well, as I have an exhaust leak

hmmmm so the flywheel, balance, and gear thats on it now won't work in the fox? interesting....I knew there had to be more to it than a simple swap
Oh well....that lil bump in compression isn't worth all that hassle, I'll either look into the 351w or just refreshing the current motor while it's out.
