well I figure with a 331 I might get some more life out of her and seriously when I drove that fox today with the same setup i'm probably gunna get... bad *** car! probably most i'm gunna want! I want the engine to be very dependable and this guy that owns the fox uses it as his daily driver and has had little problems!

The 408 takes a 351 block which means more weight(not really bad but some don't like having it) but it does cost a little extra to drop one into a fox(under a grand). So people just take their 302 and stroke it rather than getting another block and then machining and stroking it.
Then again alot of people like the 331 over the 347. Mainly bc the bottom oil ring is intersected by the wrist pin and most think that the motor doesn't last as long as a 331 will. Times have changed though and kits have come out now that have solved this problem.
I would take a stock 351 block over a stroked 302 anyday though. You are already starting out with more cubes sooooo
351>347>331 or for your question 408>351>347 lol

ya but economically the 331 is a better choice for me! better gas and I have alot of parts I can swap over. Also, I am completely fine with 400 horse! When i drove in the fox that had about 400 it seemed FINE to me
