IMO 89 coupe is the best year. one of the lightest foxes, tilt steering(90-93 dont have tilt and i hear its annoying) has mass air for ease of mods and tuning.

try buying a fox thats an original 5.0 and not a 5.0 swap(you'll know by running the vin) just because you may run into issues if someone didnt do something correctly.

5 speeds will be faster since the aod sucks.

check for rust on the floor pans, rear quarters, strut towers and hatch/trunk for bad rust or bubbling. just take your time and look over a car and make sure its in good condition. remember these cars are 20 years old so you need to be patient or you could get yourself into a pretty lengthy project of always fixing issues or someone elses problems if your not willing to walk away. these cars are extremely simple to work on as long as you do your research and make sure you do things correctly.

If you go the TT route with a 302, I would get a racing block with a 4 bolt main set-up or go the 351w route...As far as a Fox body Mustang, I would look for any 87-93 LX Coupe...just depends on what you want for the $$$

thanks guys. ya i'm going to buy a 5.0 and then go get another 5.0 engine and build that, that way I can still drive a car around. I was thinking about a 351, but i thought they we're all carburated, thats why i'm going with the 5.0 because there fuel injected.

Apparently you havn't done all of your research. All you need to make a 351 EFI is a lower intake which you can get from an aftermarket company or a F150 (these are GT40 lowers I believe) and the rest of the 302 EFI stuff goes right on. To run a stock serpentine belt you do need a couple of different brackets but not much. And the 302 computer can run a 351 setup but not to its full potential. This is where a tweecer or XFI setup comes in.
If r.barn ever came back on here he can set you straight about a twin turbo 351 setup.
