I dont think you can buy them new unless you get a offroad lower. http://www.thefordsource.com/store/m.../manifolds.htm

ok... looks like I got a tubular gt 40 upper on its way for $300 and gettin the lower soon... although I have to check about whether or not the offroad lower would pass the smog in cali... it would only have to pass the visual and... no way they'd look for that? lol hopefully!

if your on a budget, theres no way you should buy that off road lower for 250! help yourself out and keep checking ebay for the lowers, you should be able to get one for around $70.

looks like you just wasted money on doing exactly what I warned you NOT to do... That manifold is going to suck *** on your 331

well, I did read an article where they put the tubular on a 347 and the tubular outperformed edelbrock performer RPMII and trickflow's Trackheat within 1000-5600rpm's? I dunno, but if that was correct... is that wasting my money? If anything... I sell it on ebay for twice what I paid it for! lol

^^^believing everything you see in a magazine article and making a decsion based on such .....yes it is a waste of money using that line of thinking, you can't just slap a part on with out adjusting, tuning the combo to allow for the max performance of the new part.........gauranteed had the combo been retuned to the new intakes for example the rpm II then it would of supported and outpowered the gt-40....there are two many variables an unknowns to make a rational decsion..like was a correct size throttle body used for each intake, was a/f adjusted as well as spark advance tuned for each of the intakes to accomadate the increased amount of air volumne that each intake now supports.......the whole combo for each new part addition should always be tuned accordingly

ok... I think I didn't explain my way of thinking thoroughly enough.... I do understand that many times magazines are flawed and there are many variables to consider when buying a part... What I do know though is.... I can always sell this intake for twice the amount I bought it for... and... compared to my stock intake... The tubular will do my setup much better

I'm getting the intake for $200, so i'm thinkin worst comes to worse... I give my cousin the intake as a present for his mustang or .... I throw it on ebay for $300-$400???

Don't get me wrong... I hate it when these threads get viscous and completely pointless... I'm not tryin to be an *** or anything....
and actually I haven't officially purchased the intake... waiting on a reply....

Am I wrong in thinking this way?? (regarding the intake)

THanks for the help so far,
Cort

IMHO you shouldnt buy anything else for your current engine and just focus on the 331... get it built and finished ASAP and swap'er out
