Any benefit to having one on a stock 50 engine besides them looking cool ?

Nope,

they allow the gases/pressure to vent into the atmosphere.

An open breather on a setup with a functional PCV, will cause a vacuum leak condition (unmetered air) that affects the EEC fuel trim corrections.
