Pearl is added to the clear coat application 99.9% of the time, it has nothing to do with the base color. If it is a color shifting paint job, the color shifting is in the clear part of the job. They sell color shifting pearl all over the place, and it is not that pricey at all, just most body shops don't like messing with it because it is a pain in the butt. Check out Ebay, they have more pearls to choose from on there than you'll care to look through.

Well its getting closer... still has quiet a way to go but, as of 1-21-09 the door jambs and underside of the hood are painted... i love the color, looks so much better in person... and when the sun hits it OMG. the painter actually likes it so much hes going to repaint his car the same color.
Should have an update on saturday, riding up to the shop with my best friends dad and his scca race car, its sick! Stay tuned for saturday!!

me likey the progress... are you putting on a GT cobra or stalker front bumper?
I do have to say, for being a converted 4 eye... your car doesnt look half bad... too bad its still not a 4 eye, but I wont hold that against ya cuz I know you didnt give her that sex change lol

yeah, i didn't convert it but i still like it a lot. I'm going back on saturday to see what it looks like, should be painted by then, but still has more work thats getting done, i think...
i'm putting on a gt/cobra insert bumper... i'm not a huge fan of the stalker, but thats just personal opinion i guess.

Oooh I like that color, just wait til it's all done and you see it in the sunlight, pearl really makes paint pop. After my car got painted, I couldn't get over how sexy it looked out in the sun with all the pearl in it.

good choice, not a huge fan of the stalker either... sticks out too much imo...
