yeah its very normal. until it gets close to operating temp its going to run pig rich to try and warm it up. and the winter mix fuel is also less effective.

at least that only sees maybe 1-2000 miles a year
Believe it or not you make more hp with e85 but I doubt this e10 does much. Ethanol burns faster like alcohol. 5.0 mustang mag made switched a mustang over so it would run on e85 and the car made 6 hp more. Its not worth it for the mpgs you loose.

you should be able to make more of a gain then that. ethanol is anywhere from 100-105 octane, and its cheaper than 87. with that much more octane you should be able to crank up the boost or timing enough to get more than 6 hp.

wow. I wsh they would bring that stuff down here... I miss the good stuff, and believe it or not, Ive never seen an E56 gas pump anywhere...

Ive always wondered if you could build a nice "flex fuel" stroker motor... or is all that flex fuel calibration handled by the ecu?

5-10 minutes seems like an awful long time to let it warm-up... I usually let mine run for a couple minutes and let the idel drop, then take it really easy.

Also, wouldn't defrosters blowing hot air be using heat from the coolant w/o compressor involment?

without the dryer in the A/C system that hot MOIST air will fog up your windows even more
