Default 4.6L Town Car question for 5.0 guys

Well, you may wonder why I am posting this in the 5.0 section. I am changing the head gasket on a 92 Town Car w/ a 4.6L. My problem is in the fan and clutch assembly. It is similar to the 5.0Ls that I have seen. The fan shaft comes out from the water pump pulley. I am having a hard time getting it off...(among other setbacks). How do I get the nut off at the end of the shaft near the pulley??? It is on there pretty good and I am having a hard time since the pulley wants to spin. I need to get this fan/clutch assembly off to get the shroud off so I can work w/ more space and so I can get the timing cover off. Thanks for any help.

Also, I am thinking that it is a reverse thread. Is this correct???

Do you have the fan clutch removal tool? It's basically a big wrench that goes over the bolts on the pully to keep it in place and another wrench to loosen the nut. I had to use one when I changed the water pump on my truck and it made that part of the job super easy. I forget how much it cost but it couldn't have been that much.
