yes i know... well my friend has a spec stage 2 in his 99 gt and i really liked it... but then i drove my friends 88 gt with what he thought was a cf which turns out to be a spec stage 3 or something along those lines is what made me think the spec couldn't be much stiffer.... but i regret my decision, i hate it. but too late for now.

bbk sucks that much huh lol...

When you push the pedal down it "snaps" the cable back into the groove and rubs on the edge of the quadrant. Over time, this wears the cable down and it eventually breaks. I used the cheapest junk cable that was available when I restored my Capri eight years ago. It's got about 20K miles on it so far and has not stretched, chaffed or broke... because it's been adjusted correctly the whole time. I don't believe there are bad cable out there, just cable that are incorrectly adjusted. Too many people tend to set the clutch to grab right off the floor, this is not correct. It should grab about half way up. Setting it this way also ensures the clutch fully disengages when the pedal is to the floor. If the pedal is to the floor and the clutch is not fully disengaged, it will make it hard to shift into each gear and slowly kill the syncros.
that sounds like my problem.. right before it happened i was sitting at a stop sign and the car kept creeping forward with the clutch in and i didn't know wtf was going on... then 150-200 feet later it snapped...limped it the rest of the 2 blocks home in first gear going about 5 mph lol.... haven't had time to look at where it broke, i worked today, then had to fight getting in off the street into the garage since some kids are trying to "mess my sht up majorly"

i'll try to find out where it broke for sure tomorrow, i just want to get it out of the grage and back to the streets again!

I hope you get your problem figured out and BTW, that "junk" cable I put on my car that has been working flawlessly for me for the past eight years, is none other than a BBK cable. (Sorry Shelty, LOL) Like I said, I don't think there is much difference in quality when it comes to cables, they just have to be put in and adjusted correctly.

no prob, Ive just heard nothing good about them among the small niche of 5.0 owners I go to school with....

I was told a stock ford cable with a good firewall adjuster and quad was the best setup to have
