E7 Porting
If he has a limited budget, can do the work himself and already has his heads off. Then yeah it's worth it. I wouldn't take my heads off just for a P/P job. Screw that, too much sugar for a dime on that one. But if I had them off, I would go ahead and do it, if even he doesn't do anything but remove the egr bumps from the exh ports. Think of it this way. Sometimes we get things built up in our nasal cavities. Think about how small some of these things are when you get them pulled out and how much easier it is to breathe through your nose.
that has got to be the oddest explanation ive ever read. like i said in the gt40p vs 351 thread if your determined to put money into them make sure its in the valve job blend the bowls and have the bumps ported out
I ran a stock cam, stock intake, stock TB, ported and decked heads with 1.7RR with other bolt ons(electric fan, full exhaust, no smog, underdrives) 3.73 gears on street tires I ran a 13.7, on DR's I ran a 13.5. With ported intake and 65mm TB I ran a 13.3 on DR's and now with the typhoon intake I ran a 13.2, everything else the same.
When budget is king, details, details, details. I have just under 250 RWH before the new intake, but with the minor mods I have, that is almost 60 more RWH than stock.
IMO, if you have the time and no money, pull it apart and play with it...it is the only way you will learn. Will you be satisfied? Maybe, but it will payoff when you watch those tenths fall off your quarter mile....that is what hot rodding is all about, not just ordering parts and bolting them on.
