im building an engine for my mustang that i will be bracket racing in a few classes next year, i want to build the 347 for more ci but ive heard that its not dependable to build the 331?

thats an easy question. more cubes will always make more power with the right air to feed it

That old myth about 347's not being reliable is old news and just a myth. Hundreds of people have proven that theory. Build the 347, the extra stroke will help with torque numbers plus if they are assembled with the right pieces, it's not uncommon for them to make 500hp at the crank all day long

the 331 is more square, and will rev better. but their is no replacement for displacement.

if built right the 347 will rev just as easy as a 331. i was shifting mine at 6500 with no problems and thats not even revving it as hard as some people do

mine will take 6800.. but ill keep it to a minimal 6500

Do build the 347, just remember to use a qaulity kit from somewhere and enough head to support a 347......
