It is the only tan interior 85' GT I have ever seen.I realize they most likely made a few but my car was ordered Black,Tan Interior,Premium sound,5 speed and A/C.No power seats,Windows locks or cruise.Seems like a wierd one and I am trying to figure out how many were made this way and if it might be best to mod another more common car.

Don't know about the Tan interior but they built 10,097 Black GT/LX hatchbacks in 1985. I doubt is Tan interior was all that rare on black cars. This is through the Marti report.
I did one on my car and in 1985 only 188 5.0 Notch cars were painted Med Canyon Red, of those only 97 had the No console red interior, 55 had the AOD only 33 had manual windows and locks and of those 27 were equipted with air conditioning. 8 of these were SSP cars and 3 of those made it into federal service. Mine is one of the three. To me it's just another Mustang. If you break them down in every little thing they are all rare but really nothing special. Mod the hell out of it.

Yes, alll of you... mod your cars so mine and others become more rare bwahahahahaha
But that's why I only ever *think* about doing bolt-on mods, because I can usually just swap back in the old parts if I ever wanted it to be stock again (takes time and work of course). That's not to say I only want to do bolt on mods... oh I wish to do so much more haha
But anyways, I have to agree that there's no real point in breaking down the production numbers all the way to what the car was made for and what not. Pretty much every Mustang has some type of rarity about it (since they make such a variety), not necessarily meaning it is or will be worth more however.

i wouldnt worry about rarity with a fox... like portmaster said. fox's are common as dirt. the cobra r, the old predator cobras, old saleens. and the 82 just cause i think they're cool. otherwise have at them. for the most part stangs in general are not rare. there's plenty of em out there lol
